Mt 25:14-30
14For it is as when a man, going into another country, called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his several ability; and he went on his journey. 16Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents. 17In like manner he also that received the two gained other two. 18But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
19Now after a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and maketh a reckoning with them. 20And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents. 21His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22And he also that received the two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: lo, I have gained other two talents. 23His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
24And he also that had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering where thou didst not scatter: 25and I was afraid, and went away and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, thou hast thine own.
26But his lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I did not scatter; 27thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back mine own with interest. 28Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him that hath the ten talents.
29For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away. 30And cast ye out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and gnashing of teeth.
What does this parable reveal about the Kingdom of God?
Jesus begins the parable by explaining what the Kingdom is like... and begins his explanation, a master who left for another place and entrusted his goods to his servants. In the Kingdom of God we are the servants and these goods were and are entrusted to us. We also know that our Lord is within us and guides us to do what He asks.
All wealth comes from God and belongs to Him, in this text the Lord entrusts his wealth to his servants according to the capacity of each one, giving 5 to one, 2 to another and 1 to the other. See that the 5-talent was the first to receive, the first to leave and the first to settle accounts, demonstrating a much greater capacity than the others.
We also note that in the reckoning the capacity can be changed up or down, and consequently the amount of wealth (talents) that each one will have will vary.
At the time of reckoning, we see that the Lord's speech is exactly the same, both for the one with 5 talents and for the one with 2 talents, that is, God makes no distinction in the way he sees us, but he is just dividing wealth according to the management capacity.
Another very important point is that everything belongs to Him, and that He does not want the wealth back, He simply returns it to the one who multiplied it. In the end, He cares about increasing each one's capacity, wanting us to strive to use wealth to bring more people into the Kingdom.
The servant who knows his Lord, but did not do what was asked, in the final settlement is left without his wealth and consequently outside the Kingdom. This does not mean that this servant was not saved, salvation is for those who accepted Jesus as their Lord, but, just as Lazarus went to Abraham's bosom, this useless servant, who is thrown out (of the Kingdom) can not going to Hell, and sure enough, outside the Kingdom we will have people crying and angry because they didn't do what was supposed to be done (despite being in Heaven).
